Austin Butler’s 'Caught Stealing' Shows New Footage at CineEurope
Austin Butler’s crime thriller ‘Caught Stealing’ reveals new scenes at CineEurope ahead of its August 29 release.
Austin Butler’s next big role, Caught Stealing, just got a closer look at CineEurope, where Sony unveiled two new scenes from the upcoming crime thriller. The film, directed by 
Darren Aronofsky and based on Charlie Huston’s novel, is set to hit theaters in August.
Set in 1990s New York City, the story follows Hank Thompson (Butler), a former baseball player who’s pulled into a dangerous criminal world. According to Deadline, Aronofsky, speaking via video from New York, called the film a “romp, caper, adventure” set during a time “when Y2K was the biggest threat.”

Liev Schreiber, and more. Aronofsky also confirmed he’s in the final stages of editing.
The first trailer for Caught Stealing was released in May 2025, giving audiences an early look at the film’s tone and cast. The movie will be released in U.S. theaters on August 29, 2025.
