Austin Butler’s 'Caught Stealing' Trailer Sets the Scene for August Release

Austin Butler is back in the spotlight with the first trailer for his new movie, Caught Stealing, a crime thriller directed by
Darren Aronofsky and set in the gritty streets of 1990s New York City. Butler takes on the role of Hank Thompson, a former baseball player who unexpectedly finds himself pulled into the city’s criminal underworld.
The film also stars Zoë Kravitz as Butler’s love interest, with a stacked cast that includes
Bad Bunny,
Matt Smith,
Regina King,
Vincent D’Onofrio,
Action Bronson,
Liev Schreiber, and
Griffin Dunne. Caught Stealing is based on Charlie Huston’s popular book series, and Huston wrote the screenplay for the movie.
Director Darren Aronofsky is known for films like Black Swan, Requiem for a Dream, and The Whale, and both he and Sony Pictures’ Sanford Panitch have praised the energy and style of the project. Butler, who recently starred in Dune: Part Two and Masters of the Air, takes on a completely different world in this film.
Caught Stealing is set for release in theaters on August 29, 2025.
