Fans of Chappell Roan who wanted to see her at the All Things Go Festival are in for some really bad news. The singer took to her Instagram story to announce that she will not be performing at the festival, saying she’s overwhelmed and that all the pressure is taking such a toll on her that she needs a break.
The decision might stem from the fact that the singer found herself in the middle of a controversy over her statement regarding the elections, saying she does not support either of the major parties. It’s true that one can’t satisfy everyone, and even straying away from topics such as politics right now can anger some people. It’s a losing battle.
The All Things Go Festival organizers replaced Chappell’s slot at the New York festival with a drag party named ‘Queens of the Dance Floor,’ where you can dance like nobody’s watching. As for the Maryland festival, her slot was replaced by the indie band MUNA.
While it’s sad that Chappell won’t be able to perform at the festival, it’s not like she’s done with touring altogether. She’s just a human being like the rest of us, and, just like us, she needs some time to rest. So no worries—Chappell herself ended her statement with ‘Be back soon xox’, and it might be earlier than you think!
