Watch Benson Boone Cover Sam Fender’s ‘Seventeen Going Under’
It was obvious from the way Boone spoke—and sang—that he holds Sam Fender’s music in high regard.
After 
Sam Fender suffered from an unfortunate haemorrhage of one of his vocal cords, he had to pull back and cancel his show at the Montreux Jazz Festival.
Benson Boone stepped up and performed the fan favorite Seventeen Going Under. Before he began singing, he said to the crowd:
“I really hope that the people who came here to see Sam today can just get 5% out of this song, 'cause it’s a beautiful song…”
Knowing he was filling in for one of the best British rock singers today, Boone stayed humble and made sure the audience knew he appreciated the opportunity to cover for Fender.
The American singer did a fantastic job, and the crowd couldn’t have been happier.
