The Real Reason Glen Powell and Daisy Edgar-Jones Didn't Kiss in 'Twisters'
Steven Spielberg’s surprising decision changed the ending of Twisters—find out why Daisy Edgar-Jones and Glen Powell’s kiss was cut!
In a surprising twist, Daisy Edgar-Jones and Glen Powell’s anticipated on-screen kiss in Twisters was left on the cutting room floor, thanks to executive producer Steven Spielberg. During a recent interview with Collider, Edgar-Jones revealed that Spielberg felt omitting the kiss would keep the film from feeling too clichéd and allow for a more nuanced ending.
Edgar-Jones, 26, and Powell, 35, were spotted filming the kiss at an airport last year, but the final cut released on July 19th tells a different story. Powell agreed with the decision, noting that the film’s focus is on Edgar-Jones’ character, Kate Carter, rekindling her passion for storm chasing rather than finding love.
Director Lee Isaac Chung also supported the choice, calling the no-kiss ending a better conclusion. He suggested that fans can assume a kiss might happen off-screen, preserving a sense of privacy and continuation for the characters.
