Taylor Russell Leaves 'Thomas Crown Affair' Remake Mid-Filming

Taylor Russell exits ‘The Thomas Crown Affair’ mid-production due to creative differences as the studio begins recasting.
Taylor Russell has officially left The Thomas Crown Affair, the upcoming remake directed by and starring
Michael B. Jordan. Her exit, confirmed by Deadline, was due to creative differences, even as filming continues in London.
Russell was originally set to play an insurance investigator opposite Jordan’s modern-day version of the stylish thief, a role made iconic by Faye Dunaway in the 1968 original and
Rene Russo in the 1999 reboot.
But Russell isn’t slowing down. She’s starring in Na Hong-jin’s Korean thriller Hope alongside Michael Fassbender,
Alicia Vikander, and Hoyeon from Squid Game. She’s also in
Frank Ocean’s upcoming film and is in talks for a Single White Female remake with
Jenna Ortega.
Theater fans might’ve seen her stage debut in The Effect, directed by Jamie Lloyd. Known for her breakout in Bones and All, Russell is also a filmmaker—her short The Heart Still Hums won at Palm Springs ShortFest.
