Tate McRae ditched her dance-heavy routine at the FireAid show, opting for a vocal-focused set that included a cover of “Don’t Dream It’s Over.

On January 30, Canadian singer-songwriter and dancer Tate McRaeTate McRae performed at the FireAid Benefit Concert in Los Angeles, just days after releasing her new music video Sports Car. The show took place across two venues — The Kia Forum and the Intuit Dome — to support rebuilding efforts and aid displaced families.

McRae opted for a toned-down set, swapping her usual high-energy performance for a focus on vocals. She opened with a somber rendition of her 2020 Billboard Hot 100 hit You Broke Me First, then followed with a stripped-down cover of Crowded House’s Don’t Dream It’s Over. Other artists on the bill included Billie Eilish, American singer-songwriter Gracie AbramsGracie Abrams, and American singer-songwriter and actress Olivia RodrigoOlivia Rodrigo.

Next up for McRae is her album So Close to What, out February 21, featuring pre-release singles It’s OK, I’m OK and 2 Hands.
