Sombr Makes His Debut at The Tonight Show with Jimmy Fellon

With a debut TV appearance and first shows in Australia, it looks like the New Yorker’s career is just getting started.
This week, Sombr makes his long-awaited debut on American television, performing his breakout single back to friends on The Tonight Show starring Jimmy Fallon.
The track has become the centerpiece of his catalog, racking up over 222 million streams on Spotify to date. It’s not just a fan favorite—Spotify just named back to friend the official Song of the Summer 2025, placing Sombr in the company of major names like Lorde,
Leon Thomas,
Jessie Murph, and
Morgan Wallen.
Interestingly, the song originally dropped in December 2024, but it’s only now finding a new wave of momentum. The sudden spike in attention has more to do with the industry finally catching up to what his audience already knew—Sombr has something different to offer.
Riding this growing recognition, the indie musician also revealed plans for his first shows in Australia and New Zealand, with tour dates kicking off in December 2025.
