Earlier this week, Detroit rapper Skilla Baby at the BET AwardsSkilla Baby was injured in a drive-by shooting that took place near Redford Township, along 8 Mile Road. He reportedly sustained a gunshot wound to the hand and was grazed by bullets on his back and head. Despite the severity of the situation, none of the injuries were considered life-threatening.

According to Metro Detroit News, who posted footage of the aftermath on Instagram, the shooting caused Skilla Baby to lose control of his vehicle and crash into a nearby building. Police later recovered multiple shell casings from the scene. Authorities confirmed that the suspect fled, and investigators are still working to determine the motive behind the attack.

Just over 48 hours after the shooting on Thursday, May 22, Skilla Baby made a surprise appearance at 42 Dugg’s concert—his first public sighting since the incident. The hip-hop artist got on stage in an all-black outfit with a cast on his arm, performing a few bars to an electrified crowd.

Shortly after the shooting, a rep for Skilla Baby told The Shade Room that he was receiving treatment and recovering in the hospital. For now, details about the suspect and circumstances remain limited as the investigation continues.
