Riele Downs Shares Behind-the-Scenes Details From 'A Breed Apart' Remake

Riele Downs opens up about wild stunts, island survival, and influencer chaos in Lionsgate’s A Breed Apart remake.
Riele Downs, known for Nickelodeon’s Henry Danger and Peacock’s hit Bel-Air, stars in Lionsgate’s new action-horror film A Breed Apart, a remake of the 2006 thriller The Breed.
She plays “Killer Queen,” a social media influencer invited to a private island along with Violet (Grace Caroline Currey) and others. The influencers soon discover their weekend getaway has turned deadly as they’re forced to fight against vicious, man-eating dogs.
In an interview with Bleeding Cool, Downs, who calls herself an “adrenaline seeker,” revealed she enjoyed performing challenging stunts, describing the film as “jam-packed with action.” She noted each stunt required creativity: “Every day was like a new, ‘Alright, how are we going to do this?’” Directors Griff and Nathan Furst combined CGI and practical effects, with Downs recalling a green-screen bundle being pushed onto her to simulate dog attacks.
Despite demanding filming conditions—bugs, boats, and nonstop action—Downs bonded closely with co-stars, who remain friends and even maintain a group chat today. A Breed Apart is currently available in theaters, digitally, and on-demand.
