Rhian Teasdale’s Armpit Hair: The Unlikely Edge That Helped Wet Leg Topple Oasis!
British indie rock rising stars Wet Leg have hit No. 1 with their latest album, moisturizer, overtaking the iconic Oasis in a tight U.K. chart race.
Wet Leg has clinched the U.K.’s No. 1 album spot with their second album, moisturizer, narrowly surpassing Oasis in a fierce chart battle. This marks the band’s second straight No. 1, following their 2022 self-titled debut. Oasis’ greatest hits album, Time Flies… 1994-2009, briefly reclaimed the top position last week (July 11) as the band launched their Live ‘25 reunion tour.

Rhian Teasdale clapped back at “old men on the internet” criticizing her body hair, jokingly vowing, “If we somehow beat Oasis to No. 1, I’ll shave the pits.” After securing the chart victory, she posted again, sporting an unofficial Oasis T-shirt featuring Jim Carrey and Jeff Daniels from Dumb and Dumber (1994) instead of Noel and Liam Gallagher.
Rhian Teasdale has clearly touched on a sensitive topic regarding body hair. Many of her “old men” fans criticized the hair under her armpits, to which she responded, “Funny, I never expected such a response to my hair, especially since I’m not a pre-pubescent child…”
Obviously, it was their talent that got them to Number 1 on the U.K. chart, but the video definitely played a small part in that success.
