Rebecca Black Has the Outside Lands Crowd Chanting Back at Her

Rebecca Black lit up Outside Lands 2025 with standout performances from ‘Salvation’ and ‘Let Her Burn’, winning over the crowd.
Rebecca Black performed on the Sutro Stage at the 2025 Outside Lands Music Festival on Sunday, the first of two sets she played that day. Wearing a ruffled green-and-black striped dress with hoop earrings, she opened with American Doll from her second album, Salvation. Behind her, large banners mimicked the style of protest signs seen at some LGBTQ+ events, with phrases like “Return to salvation” and “Seek Rebecca Black.”
Her set included Twist the Knife, Crumbs, and Sick to My Stomach, backed by dancers in camouflage tank tops, furry shorts, and boots. She kept the audience involved with constant movement and a chant of “Do you even think about me?”—a line from one of her songs.
Black, who rose to fame with 2011’s Friday, came out as queer in 2020 and released her debut album Let Her Burn in 2023. She closed by calling the audience a “sea of gay” and thanking them.
