Qing Madi Joins Valorant as Mary Ade: New Character & Song 'Ego'

Meet Mary Ade, Valorant’s first non-playable character, and see how Qing Madi’s song ‘Ego’ sets the scene for the game’s next chapter.
Qing Madi, an 18-year-old Nigerian singer-songwriter, just scored a major milestone: she’s the voice and face of Mary Ade, Valorant’s newest character and its first non-playable one. For the game’s fifth anniversary, Riot tapped Qing Madi not just for her vocals, but for her own story. Like Mary Ade, she splits her time between Lagos and London and is already earning global attention - she was just named a Spotify Artist to Watch in 2025.
Qing Madi’s single, Ego, dropped alongside Mary Ade’s launch. “I’m proud to bring Yoruba culture to a global audience through Valorant,” she said about the project.
Unlike past Valorant music tie-ins, the Ego video isn’t promoting a new agent or map. For Valorant’s 35 million players, it’s a different kind of anniversary update: one that puts new talent and real stories up front.
