Owen Cooper Named Best Supporting Actor at Gotham Awards for 'Adolescence'

Owen Cooper wins Outstanding Supporting Performance for ‘Adolescence’ at the 2025 Gotham TV Awards in New York.
Fifteen-year-old Owen Cooper had a big moment at the 2025 Gotham TV Awards in New York, taking home the award for Outstanding Supporting Performance in a Limited Series for his role as a young murder suspect in Adolescence.
The win was one of three major victories for the show, which also earned awards for Breakthrough Limited Series and for Stephen Graham’s lead performance.
During his acceptance speech, Cooper got emotional as he thanked his parents, joking, “my parents for creating me.” He also shared a special shoutout to his co-star Erin Doherty, who was also nominated in the same category.
“That episode that we did together, it was easy to do it with you and it was such an honor to share this award with you. You deserve this award just as much as I do, so round of applause for Erin please.”
Cooper also recognized the work of Philip Barantini, Joe Johnson, Stephen Graham, and Hannah Walters, along with the whole Adolescence cast and crew, making it clear this win was a team effort.
