Milly Alcock Suits Up as Supergirl in First Look at DC’s 'Woman of Tomorrow'

Milly Alcock suits up as Supergirl in DC’s ‘Woman of Tomorrow’, set for a 2026 release with a darker, cosmic storyline.
Milly Alcock has officially stepped into the DC Universe. Director
James Gunn and Alcock shared the first look at her as Supergirl in a joint Instagram post. The image, which doesn’t show her face, focuses on her costume—complete with the House of El crest, red boots, a red skirt, and a brown trench coat. The poster includes the tagline “Look Out. 2026,” a twist on Superman’s well-known “Look up.”
Alcock will lead Supergirl: Woman of Tomorrow, based on the comic by Tom King and Bilquis Evely. The story follows Kara Zor-El and her dog Krypto as they help a young alien, Ruthye, seek justice for her father’s death. Gunn has described this version of Supergirl as “a mess,” noting the difference between her upbringing and Superman’s.
The film is directed by Craig Gillespie (I, Tonya, Cruella) and stars Eve Ridley as Ruthye,
Matthias Schoenaerts as the villain Krem, and
Jason Momoa as the antihero Lobo. It’s scheduled to release on June 26, 2026.
