Megan Moroney Teases New Single – Lyrics & Preview

The rising country star just uploaded a preview of her forthcoming single, and it’s stunningly beautiful.
While on her massive Am I Okay? tour across the U.S., Megan Moroney still finds time to surprise fans with new music.
Her upcoming single is dedicated to her niece, as the artist shared on Instagram:
“When she was born i remember being in awe of how sweet and perfect she was & i (in true emo cowgirl fashion) was sad knowing that when she grows up the world may be cruel to her sometimes… inevitably she’ll get her feelings hurt by friends or her heart broken or just have bad days & i wanted her to be able to have a song to listen to when & if she ever needs it.”
The Gen-Z country music favorite easily packs 6,000-seat arenas. But it’s not all Barbie looks and glitter — Moroney has struck a chord with an entire generation through her songwriting.
Luckily, we managed to transcribe some of the lyrics from the preview Moroney shared today. Take a look:
Standing at your bathroom mirror
Crying, what did I do?
Tears
Your friends are out
And you’re right here
There’s a party you didn’t know
You just found out from your phone
Tell them I want you to go
Oh, yeah, you feel that
Twisted life
Oh, I know it ain’t right
Fires burn up canyons
A hurricane can wreck a beach
Words can make a mockingbird
Forget they’re born the same
Lies can break a fragile heart
And doubt can crush your dreams
But honey, just take it from me
The world is hard on beautiful things
