Megan Moroney Friendzones Her Ex in '6 Months Later' Music Video

Megan Moroney’s ‘6 Months Later’ is the viral breakup track everyone’s tagging their ex in — watch the video and see what the hype’s about.
Megan Moroney puts a playful spin on breakup recovery in her latest music video for 6 Months Later, released July 16, 2025. The video, which Moroney co-directed with CeCe Dawson, shows her juggling two roles: the heartbroken ex and the savvy operator of a fictional “Karma Now! Hotline.”
Drawing inspiration from ’90s infomercials, Moroney’s character dreams up payback scenarios (think spoiled groceries and sabotaged showers) before delivering the final punchline: friend-zoning her ex when he tries to win her back, just “six months too late.”
The song, co-written with Ben Williams, David “Messy” Mescon, and Rob Hatch, has quickly become one of Moroney’s biggest hits. It debuted at No. 1 on Spotify’s All-Genre Top Song Debut chart and scored her highest entry yet on the Billboard Hot 100. Fans got a sneak peek of the video at her Emo Cowgirl pop-up event in Nashville.
