Mason Thames reprises his role as Finn in ‘Black Phone 2’, with the first trailer out and a release date set for October 17.
Mason Thames returns as Finn in Black Phone 2, the follow-up to the 2022 horror film from Universal Pictures and Blumhouse. The first official trailer has been released, and the film is scheduled to hit theaters on October 17, 2025.
Set four years after Finn’s escape from The Grabber, Thames now plays a 17-year-old still dealing with the trauma of his past. Ethan Hawke reprises his role as The Grabber, who seeks vengeance from beyond the grave and targets Finn and his younger sister Gwen, played by
Madeleine McGraw. This time, Gwen experiences disturbing dreams and phone calls connected to the black phone, which lead the siblings to investigate events at a winter camp called Alpine Lake.
Black Phone 2 is directed by Scott Derrickson, co-written with C. Robert Cargill, and features a cast including Demián Bichir,
Arianna Rivas, and
Jeremy Davies. The original Black Phone received critical acclaim and earned over $160 million worldwide.
