Billboard’s latest charts show Mariah the Scientist’s ‘Burning Blue’ dominating at #1 on R&B Streaming Songs, with 5.4 million streams in its first week.

American singer-songwriter Mariah the Scientist (Mariah Buckles)Mariah the Scientist’s Burning Blue debuted at No. 25 on the Billboard Hot 100, marking her highest-charting single and first solo entry on the chart. Released on May 2, 2025, the track has amassed over 5.4 million Spotify streams and 1.5 million YouTube views.

The R&B ballad was produced by Nineteen85 with Jetski Purp, and by now it dominates multiple Billboard charts, including No. 1 on R&B Streaming Songs and No. 7 on Hot R&B/Hip-Hop Songs, and No. 1 spot on Apple Music’s U.S. charts - making it the highest-charting song by a female artist on the platform in 2025.

Burning Blue serves as the lead single from her upcoming fourth studio album under Epic Records. At the 2025 Billboard Women in Music event, Mariah confirmed the album’s completion, describing it as the result of “many nights” of work.

Fans can catch live previews from her new album at several major festivals this summer, including Governors Ball and Lollapalooza on July 31.
