Mariah the Scientist, one of R&B’s most promising young voices, just dropped new details about her upcoming album in a backstage interview at Hot 107.9’s Birthday Bash 2025 in Atlanta. Surprising the crowd as a special guest, Mariah told DJ Misses that this next record is her “best work yet,” featuring a more intentional approach — she wrote lyrics first and then built beats around them, a departure from her usual process of picking tracks online. This change, she says, gave her more creative control and flexibility in shaping the album’s sound.

Mariah hinted at an August 2025 release but admitted the album title is still undecided, emphasizing how much the project means to her. The singer also reflected on the unique energy of her hometown Atlanta and the strong connection fans have with songs like her club-favorite single Burning Blue.
