Mariah the Scientist Drops New R&B Single With Kali Uchis

Mariah the Scientist has dropped her new single Is It A Crime? featuring Kali Uchis, the second release from her upcoming album Hearts Sold Separately, arriving August 22, 2025, via Epic Records. This track marks the first collaboration between Mariah and Kali, combining two standout voices in today’s R&B.

On Is It A Crime?, Mariah opens with vulnerable a question “Is it a crime to fall in love a couple times?” Her confessional style leads the track, while Kali Uchis provides a sensual counterpoint, building a dynamic duet praised by critics for its chemistry and dreamy production. The single follows the success of Burning Blue, Mariah’s Hot 100 breakthrough, which recently went Gold.
