Luke Newton Cast as Alexander McQueen in New Off-Broadway Play 'House of McQueen'

Luke Newton will play fashion icon Alexander McQueen in ‘House of McQueen’, opening Off-Broadway this September.
Luke Newton, known for playing Colin Bridgerton in Netflix’s Bridgerton, will take on the role of designer
Alexander McQueen in an upcoming Off-Broadway production, according to Deadline. Titled House of McQueen, the play begins previews on August 19, 2025, at The Mansion at Hudson Yards in New York City, with opening night set for September 9.
Written by Darrah Cloud and directed by Sam Helfrich, the play follows McQueen’s career—from his early days in fashion to the launch of his own label, leading up to his death in 2010. The production includes large-scale LED visuals and scenes exploring McQueen’s relationships, including with mentor Isabella Blow and close family members.
This marks the first show at the new Hudson Yards venue. Newton’s past stage work includes The Book of Mormon and The Shape of Things. He recently finished filming Bridgerton Season 4 and the sci-fi thriller White Mars, opposite Lucy Hale.
