Lainey Wilson Steps Into Film with 'Reminders of Him'

The film is directed by Vanessa Caswill and adapts Colleen Hoover’s novel, which has sold over 6 million copies in the U.S.
Lainey Wilson is set to make her feature film acting debut in the adaptation of Colleen Hoover’s bestselling novel Reminders of Him, scheduled to hit theaters on February 13, 2026, just in time for Valentine’s Day. The film follows the success of Hoover’s previous adaptation, It Ends With Us, and is directed by Vanessa Caswill, with a screenplay co-written by Hoover and Lauren Levine.
Maika Monroe stars as Kenna Rowan, a mother returning home after five years in prison, determined to reconnect with her four-year-old daughter.
Tyriq Withers plays Ledger Ward, a local bar owner who becomes Kenna’s ally.
Lauren Graham portrays Grace Landry, the mother of Kenna’s deceased boyfriend, Scotty, while Nicholas Duvernay appears as Roman, a bartender at Ward’s Bar.
Rudy Pankow and
Bradley Whitford round out the ensemble cast. Wilson’s specific role has not yet been revealed.
Wilson’s move into film comes after her recurring role as Abby in Yellowstone-a character written for her after her music appeared in the series. She also contributed original music to the 2024 film Twisters, earning a Grammy nomination for her work on the soundtrack. Filming for Reminders of Him began in Calgary in April 2025 and is set to wrap in June. The novel has sold over 6 million copies in the U.S. and explores themes of motherhood, forgiveness, and redemption.
