Julia Garner Debuts as Silver Surfer in 'Fantastic Four: First Steps' Clip

Julia Garner makes her MCU debut as the Silver Surfer in a new ‘Fantastic Four: First Steps’ clip, warning Earth of Galactus.
Julia Garner is officially entering the MCU, and her Silver Surfer moment has arrived. In a newly released clip from The Fantastic Four: First Steps—set to hit theaters July 25—Garner’s Shalla-Bal (a gender-flipped version of the iconic Marvel character) descends to Earth with a chilling message: Galactus is coming. “Earth will be consumed… celebrate while you can,” she warns, calling Galactus a “universal force.”
The film introduces a retro-futuristic take on Marvel’s First Family, with Pedro Pascal as Reed Richards,
Vanessa Kirby as Sue Storm,
Joseph Quinn as Johnny Storm, and
Ebon Moss-Bachrach as Ben Grimm.
Ralph Ineson plays Galactus, the cosmic threat looming over Earth.
Garner’s version of the Silver Surfer is a major shift from the comics’ Norrin Radd, giving the MCU’s next phase a fresh angle. She joins an ensemble that also includes Paul Walter Hauser,
Natasha Lyonne, and
John Malkovich in undisclosed roles.
