Joel Courtney Plays John O’Leary in 'Soul On Fire' and the Release Date Is Out

Joel Courtney stars as John O’Leary in ‘Soul On Fire’, a biopic about the burn survivor turned inspirational author.
American actor Joel Courtney, best known for his roles in Super 8 and The Kissing Booth movies, is set to portray author John O’Leary in a biopic titled Soul On Fire. Deadline has revealed that the film is scheduled for release on October 10.
John O’Leary is a motivational speaker and author of the book On Fire: The 7 Choices to Ignite a Radically Inspired Life. As a child, he survived a devastating fire and suffered severe burns. Instead of giving up, he turned his experience into a message of hope and inspiration. Today, he travels the world encouraging others to live with courage and purpose.
Joining Courtney in the cast are William H. Macy as Jack Buck and
John Corbett as Dennis, with
DeVon Franklin,
Stéphanie Szostak,
Masey McLain, and others in undisclosed roles. The film is directed by Sean McNamara, with a script written by Gregory Poirier.
Courtney’s recent projects include the 2024 romantic comedy Players, alongside Gina Rodriguez and
Damon Wayans Jr., and the 2023 faith-based drama Jesus Revolution, co-starring
Jonathan Roumie and
Kimberly Williams-Paisley.
Soul On Fire hits theaters on October 10*.
