Isabela Merced’s Hawkgirl Gets Spotlight in Latest 'Superman' Posters
New ‘Superman’ movie posters reveal Isabela Merced as Hawkgirl, ahead of the film’s worldwide release in July 2025.
Isabela Merced is set to appear as Hawkgirl in the new Superman movie, which will be released worldwide on July 11, 2025. Director 
James Gunn recently unveiled new character posters featuring Merced in costume, along with posters for 
Nathan Fillion as Green Lantern and 
Edi Gathegi as Mister Terrific. In this film, Hawkgirl is part of the Justice Gang, a superhero team owned by billionaire Maxwell Lord.
Merced, recognized for her roles in Alien: Romulus and the second season of The Last of Us, described her casting experience as emotional. She said she was “speechless” when she learned she got the role and wanted to tell her mother immediately. This news has sparked a lot of conversation online, especially after the posters were shared.
Superman is directed by James Gunn and will serve as the first film in the new DC Universe. Box office projections suggest a strong opening weekend for the film in the United States.
