Fans Angry After Clairo Pulls Out of Primavera Sound Last Minute

Fans were heartbroken by the cancellation, with some criticizing the artist for poor organization.
Queer indie musician Clairo canceled her Primavera Soundperformance at the last minute, citing ‘logistical issues’ as the reason."
The news deeply saddened fans, as this was one of Claire Cottrill’s most anticipated performances in the EU.
In a personal statement addressing her “Barcelona friends,” the 26-year-old singer expressed deep regret over the cancellation.
“Unfortunately, I’m not able to make it to Primavera this year and I’m so sad about it, because Primavera is iconic and returning to the fest is something I’ve been looking forward to for ages,” she wrote.
Clairo added, “There are some logistical issues with getting my show to/from Primavera that have forced my hand here. I never want to give my fans anything but the absolute best set I can do, and that won’t be possible at this time. I’m so sorry again and I hope to be able to make it up to you sooner than later.”
The festival, set to take place from June 4 to 8 at Parc del Fòrum, had billed Clairo alongside major acts like Sabrina Carpenter, HAIM, Beach House, TV On The Radio, and Wet Leg for June 6, with Charli XCX and
Chappell Roan headlining other days.
One fan posted on X, “I love Clairo so much, but I’m tired of the lack of respect artists have for countries outside the US. You can’t cancel your show just because your team didn’t plan your festival dates properly and chose the one in New York over Primavera Sound.”
Another wrote, “Logistical issues? It’s a month away—fix it. Feel bad for fans who bought tickets just for her.”
Some fans speculated that the cancellation might have been anticipated, noting that Clairo’s merchandise at Coachella in April did not list Primavera Sound among her 2025 dates.
“We’ve known for almost 3 months that she cancelled Primavera and yet she only found the grace to officially announce it today,” one user commented on X, criticizing the delayed communication.
While Clairo’s absence is a blow, Primavera Sound 2025 boasts a robust lineup, with headliners Charli XCX, Chappell Roan, and Sabrina Carpenter, alongside acts like LCD Soundsystem, FKA Twigs, Fontaines D.C., and IDLES.
The festival, known for its genre-spanning performances and late-night sets, remains a major draw, with tickets having sold out in just 67 days.
