Ethel Cain Brings Out Chelsea Wolfe for Surprise Duet in Berkeley

Mid-set at her Berkeley show, Ethel Cain told fans “Ethel Cain wouldn’t exist without Chelsea Wolfe” before performing together for the first time.
Ethel Cain brought her Willoughby Tucker Forever Tour to the Greek Theatre in Berkeley, CA on August 18, 2025, for a show highlighted by a surprise collaboration. Midway through the set, she brought out
Chelsea Wolfe to perform Punish, earning one of the night’s loudest ovations.
The track originates from Cain’s Perverts album, released in January 2025, making the performance a rare live appearance of that material. Afterward, Cain told the crowd, “Ethel Cain wouldn’t exist without Chelsea Wolfe,” crediting Wolfe as a major influence.
The duet also realized Wolfe’s 2024 Reddit AMA wish to collaborate with Cain, marking their first time sharing a stage. Staged with stark lighting and minimal movement, the performance served as an atmospheric interlude within a set focused on songs from Cain’s new album Willoughby Tucker, I’ll Always Love You, released earlier this month.
The performance linked Cain’s Perverts project with her new album, giving fans a rare crossover moment between her two 2025 releases.
