Emma Mackey’s 'Hot Milk' Trailer Just Dropped — and It’s Intense

Vicky Krieps in the drama film Hot Milk, which has just released its official trailer.
Based on Deborah Levy’s novel of the same name, Hot Milk follows Sofia, a young woman who takes her ailing mother to Spain in search of a cure. As she cares for her, Sofia begins to explore her own identity, her desires, and how their complicated relationship shapes her life.
The trailer offers a glimpse of their intense mother-daughter dynamic, filled with charged emotions and powerful dialogue, and closes by announcing a release date of July 4, 2025—after a delay from its original May 30 premiere.
In addition to Mackey and Krieps (as Ingrid), the cast includes Fiona Shaw as Rose,
Vincent Perez as Dr. Gomez,
Yann Gael as Matthew, and
Patsy Ferran in an undisclosed role.
Hot Milk premiered on February 14, 2025, at the Berlin International Film Festival, where it competed for the Golden Bear, won that year by the Norwegian drama Dreams (Sex Love) by Dag Johan Haugerud.
