Dominic McLaughlin is stepping into one of the most iconic roles in fantasy history—Harry Potter—in HBO’s upcoming TV adaptation of 
J.K. Rowling’s beloved book series. Recently spotted filming in London, McLaughlin was seen alongside a towering Hagrid stand-in, designed with the likeness of actor 
Nick Frost, who is playing the half-giant in the series.
In the new set video, the pair appear to be shooting scenes in the Muggle world, including a trip on the London Underground—referencing a moment from the first book that was cut from the original 2001 film. McLaughlin was also seen filming at London Zoo, suggesting that the show may be shooting events in chronological order to help its young cast develop naturally with the story.
Set to premiere in 2027, the series will adapt one book per season, with McLaughlin leading a new generation of actors bringing the wizarding world back to screens in a more detailed and faithful way.
