Most rappers do fashion collabs—these two decided contraception is the new black in influencer marketing.
We couldn’t believe it until we saw it. Hip-hop artist Akeem Ali and
Smino are not part of the SKYN King campaign promoting large extra-large size condoms.
The brand decided to include the artists as part of their collaboration with The Gentlemen’s Factory, a community supporting men of color across culture and business. SKYN wants to delve into underscored topics of modern masculinity and its interpretations.
Both artists are supposed to appear in the brand’s exclusive content talking about the above-mentioned themes.
But let’s just acknowledge the obvious – it’s kind of hilarious that the two Black hip-hop artists would agree to do the campaign.
At the same time, it is also refreshing to see big names of their genre portray an alternative image of modern masculinity, which is no doubt a rather taboo topic to cover in many male-dominated communities.
