David Corenswet Transforms for Superman Role in New Workout Video

With just weeks to go until Superman hits theaters on July 11, 2025, DC Studios has dropped a new behind-the-scenes video showing David Corenswet’s intense physical transformation for the role. Shared with the caption, “To become Superman, David trained like him,” the clip features before-and-after shots of Corenswet’s workout routine as he bulked up to play the Man of Steel.

In the video, Corenswet is heard saying, “I’m just not strong enough for that, but I’ll be that strong in a week,” showing his commitment to the role. Director James Gunn, who is launching a new DC Universe (DCU), previously said he wanted a Superman who embodied kindness and hope—qualities he saw in Corenswet during early screen tests.

The film will explore Superman’s first year in Metropolis and introduce other DC characters like Hawkgirl (Isabela Merced), Green Lantern (Nathan Fillion), Mister Terrific (Edi Gathegi), and Lex Luthor (Nicholas Hoult).

Superman, starring David Corenswet and directed by James Gunn, is scheduled for nationwide release on July 11, 2025.
