David Corenswet’s 'Superman' Faces Moral Dilemmas in New DCU Trailer

David Corenswet stars as Superman in the new trailer, featuring first looks at Lois Lane, Lex Luthor, and new villains.
David Corenswet is back as the Man of Steel in the new trailer for Superman that was just released.
The trailer starts with Lois Lane (Rachel Brosnahan) beginning an interview with Clark Kent as Superman, after he, as he says, “stopped a war.” During that event, he broke some laws and is now being criticized for his involvement in international conflicts and lack of official oversight. It also shows that despite their strong bond, Clark and Lois disagree on significant moral and political issues, especially regarding Clark’s role as Superman.
New villains appear in the trailer as well—The Engineer, Ultraman, and the Hammer of Boravia. It also shows more of Nicholas Hoult as Lex Luthor, the film’s main antagonist, who imprisons Superman at some point and puts him in a cell with Metamorpho (
Anthony Carrigan).
With scenes showing flashbacks to Clark’s childhood and moments of classic superhero action, this trailer promises a bold new start for both Corenswet and the DC Universe. Superman hits theaters July 11, 2025.
