Cierra Ortega exits ‘Love Island’ USA following a “personal situation” amid backlash over a resurfaced offensive post.

Cierra Ortega has officially left Love Island USA, with her exit announced during Episode 30 of the current season. Narrator Iain Stirling confirmed via voiceover that Cierra left the villa due to a “personal situation,” leaving her partner Nic Vansteenberg suddenly single. Cierra was one of the original islanders and had been a part of the show since the season premiere.

Although the show didn’t provide further details, her departure comes after social media backlash over a resurfaced post in which she allegedly used racist language. Viewers had been calling for her removal online, adding pressure to the situation.

Cierra Ortega’s family has issued a statement after she was removed from #LoveIslandUSA over backlash to posts using an anti-Asian slur to describe her eyes:
