Her early tracks, including Friendly Sex, X&Y, and her breakout single Pretty Boys, have garnered attention ahead of her most anticipated mixtape Still Learning.
Caity Baser doesn’t seem to be performing solely for money. During the financial crisis, she capped ticket prices across all of her shows which gained a lot of respect for the artist in the UK. In 2023 she performed at major events like the Reading & Leeds Festival, appeared on national TV and radio.
When Caity learned about her nomination for the BRITs Rising Star Award, she screamed for five minutes and threw everything around her room.
This was nothing short of a dream come true, as she had watched the awards as a child and never imagined that someone like her, from an estate in Southampton, could one day be nominated.
Even though Caity has such an energetic aura and loves connecting with fans, she confesses she never had a real friend back when she was a child:
“Growing up, I really wanted to have loads of girlfriends. But most of the girls were just so bitchy and mean and competitive all the time. It made my experience with girls just not nice. And I know the type of person I am and the type of friend I am. All I ever wanted was a friend like me. So I think the reason why I’m like that now is because I never got that growing up. All the girls would be nice to me at first but then awful about me behind my back. I can’t deal with that anymore. And I want people to know that if they’re going through that too, I will be their friend. You’ll have me, and I know what it’s like. Girls can be fucking shit.”
One of the biggest topics in her songs is dealing with toxic relationships and preserving one’s self-worth. She shares her life experience on that matter as well:
“… I was so in love with this boy who just did not give a fuck about me, and then once I stopped giving a fuck about him, he started caring about me all of a sudden. But I was already over it, and I was already on to bigger and better. I’m not going to wait around for you to figure out that I’m actually amazing. ”
Whether the young singer wins the award or not, one thing is for certain: her talent will travel the globe with confidence and grace. Stay updated on Caity’s forthcoming music releases and personal life by following her Instagram.
