Cailee Spaeny joins Alex Garland’s ‘Elden Ring’ film for A24, reuniting after Civil War, per The InSneider report.
Cailee Spaeny is set to join Alex Garland’s upcoming film adaptation of Elden Ring, the best-selling fantasy video game from FromSoftware, according to a scoop by industry insider The InSneider. The movie, currently in pre-production with A24, marks one of the studio’s most expensive projects to date and will feature Spaeny alongside
Kit Connor (Heartstopper) and
Ben Whishaw (Skyfall). Garland, who previously directed Spaeny in Civil War and Devs, is both writing and directing the film.
Elden Ring, which has sold over 30 million copies since 2022, was co-created by George R.R. Martin, who is also producing the film and closely involved in shaping its story. Spaeny’s casting follows her breakout lead role in Alien: Romulus, which earned over $350 million worldwide. She’s also lined up for Season 2 of Netflix’s Beef and Rian Johnson’s next Knives Out movie, Wake Up Dead Man.
