Benito Skinner might be bringing Overcompensating back for season two, and the internet is paying close attention. The creator and star of the Amazon comedy, which is loosely based on his own coming-out experience, recently dropped a TikTok with castmate 
Owen Thiele that read: “Benny in season 2…” Naturally, fans jumped into the comments with questions and theories.
There’s no official green light yet, but Variety reports that a writers’ room is already in progress. According to the same source, Amazon has acknowledged the show’s strong viewership and loyal following, and a final decision is expected soon.
There’s also buzz about a possible cameo from the mom of Skinner’s boyfriend, photographer Terry O’Connor—often featured in Skinner’s social content and known for his work with 
Charli XCX. Season one took years to develop, but now that the series has momentum, many are hoping the next chapter doesn’t take quite as long.
