Benito Skinner Drops First Trailer for College Comedy 'Overcompensating'

Benito Skinner debuts his new comedy-drama ‘Overcompensating’, with college, identity, and Charli XCX in the mix.
American comedian and actor Benito Skinner is set to debut his upcoming comedy-drama series Overcompensating, and after a long wait, we finally have the first trailer, offering a look at what Skinner has been working on.
Overcompensating follows Benny (played by Skinner), a closeted former high school football star, as he starts college and tries to figure out who he really is. He teams up with Carmen (played by Wally Baram), another outsider, and together they deal with parties, awkward hookups, and growing up. The show explores how people hide parts of themselves to fit in — and what happens when they stop.
Alongside Skinner and Baram, the series features Mary Beth Barone as Grace,
Adam DiMarco as Peter, and
Rish Shah as Miles in main roles, with actors like
Kyle MacLachlan,
Kaia Gerber, and
Lukas Gage appearing in supporting roles. Plus,
Charli XCX is set to appear on the show as herself!
Overcompensating premieres on Amazon Prime Video with all eight episodes dropping on May 15, 2025.
