Ava Max Drops a Disastrously Bad Album 'Don't Click Play'

Just as the album’s title suggests, it’s really not worth listening to.
After a month of ghosting her online fans and dealing with heartbreak,Ava Max finally returns with a full album, Don’t Click Play.
Just like her earlier release, the heavily promoted Wet, Hot American Dream, the whole album follows the same cliché pop trajectory.
It sounds cheap as it tries to cover every little trend in pop music, but most of them are badly executed. Down the line, the album lacks substance.
Both lyrics and production fall flat. Even the title track clumsily imitates Lady Gaga…
It’s one of those cases where promotion mattered more than the music itself. Even the overly sexualized visuals don’t help carry the album.
The leak of her earlier album also didn’t help her present the work properly—though, ultimately, it wouldn’t have made much difference.
We hope this is the last time Max tries to Frankenstein her pop image from legendary influences, and instead finally comes up with her own sound and identity.”
