Austin Butler and Jeremy Allen White Set to Clash in A24’s 'Enemies'

A24 confirms Austin Butler and Jeremy Allen White will lead Henry Dunham’s $25M thriller ‘Enemies’, filming in Chicago.

Jeremy Allen White’s spy thriller Enemies is happening! Deadline reports that A24 has finally made it official and confirmed what fans were hoping for.
Described as a “spy vs. spy” thriller, the film is expected to begin filming in June this year. Production will last 30 days, most likely in Chicago, where the film is set, and it has a budget of $25 million.
The film is written and directed by Henry Dunham, known for his previous work in the crime thriller genre. The storyline centers on a relentless detective and a notorious contract killer who become embroiled in a deadly cat-and-mouse chase.
Besides Enemies, Butler is set to star as Vernon Jefferson Peak in Ari Aster’s upcoming western black comedy Eddington, alongside Joaquin Phoenix,
Pedro Pascal,
Emma Stone, and
Luke Grimes. The film received a teaser last month.
Last year, Butler wrapped filming on Darren Aronofsky’s crime thriller Caught Stealing, in which he stars with Zoë Kravitz,
Regina King,
Matt Smith,
Liev Schreiber, and others. The film is expected to be released on August 29, 2025.
