Antonia Gentry shares how Ginny finds her voice and faces tough changes in season 3 of Netflix’s ‘Ginny & Georgia’.

Antonia Gentry, who plays Ginny in Netflix’s Ginny & Georgia, recently chatted with The Daily Northwestern about how her character steps up in season three. This time around, Ginny faces way more than most teens, especially with her mom Georgia (Brianne Howey) on trial for murder.

“She is actively working towards having the proper tools with which to deal with her emotions and feelings,” Gentry shared, explaining how Ginny turns to therapy, journaling, and poetry to keep it together. “She is going through more than any teenager her age ever could imagine.”

The new season also forces some real distance between Ginny and Georgia. “We see them separated in a way that they didn’t choose,” Gentry said, admitting that it made Ginny realize just how much she actually needs her mom—even if things are messy.

One big moment for Ginny? Finally feeling seen, especially when other people start to notice the complicated sides of Georgia. “All Ginny wanted was to feel seen,” Gentry explained, saying there’s “a certain extent” of relief now that she’s not dealing with it all alone.

Season 3 of Ginny & Georgia is out now on Netflix.
