Anna Sawai and Zendaya unintentionally twinned at the Met Gala. Zendaya followed up with flowers to welcome Anna in style.

Japanese actress and singer Ana SawaiAnna Sawai made a strong first impression at the 2025 Met Gala—and unintentionally matched with Zendaya. Both stars arrived in crisp, all-white tailored suits that immediately caught the internet’s attention. Zendaya wore a custom Louis Vuitton look designed by Pharrell, while Anna opted for a custom Dior suit paired with Cartier jewelry. The overlap sparked plenty of memes and “Who wore it better?” posts, but there was no behind-the-scenes drama.

Anna’s suit was inspired by Yoko Ono, aligning with this year’s theme, Superfine: Tailoring Black Style, which spotlighted how Black communities have used tailoring to express identity. Her minimalist take brought a clean, confident edge to the red carpet.

Zendaya’s stylist Law Roach later cleared the air, telling Entertainment Tonight that Zendaya sent Anna flowers and that everything was cool between the two. “It just happened,” he said. “They both looked great.”

The moment didn’t steal attention from Anna—it put her on the map. For a first Met Gala, showing up in a custom look, going viral, and handling it all with grace? That’s how you make an entrance.
