AJ Tracey has officially returned with his new album Don’t Die Before You’re Dead, which dropped June 13, 2025, in partnership with BBC Radio 1Xtra. The project marks his first album in four years, following 2021’s Flu Game, and arrives via his own label, Revenge Records. The launch included a live performance at BBC Maida Vale Studios, where AJ previewed tracks like Crush (with
Jorja Smith), West Life, Joga Bonito, and Paid In Full (featuring Big Zuu, Wax, Ets, and D7).
AJ describes the album as a statement on ambition, resilience, and personal growth, shaped by major life changes and a commitment to quality over speed. Notably, Crush reunites him with Jorja Smith and samples UK grime classics, while Paid In Full brings together his original MTP crew for the first time in over a decade. The record showcases his evolution, with nods to old-school grime, British funk, and his multicultural influences.
AJ Tracey is quickly becoming one of the UK’s most influential artists, with triple-platinum hits and multiple BRIT nominations, cementing his place at the top of the UK rap scene. The full album launch party is available on BBC Sounds, iPlayer, and YouTube.
