Aimee Lou Wood Reveals the Strangest Fan Theory From 'The White Lotus'
Aimee Lou Wood breaks down the oddest White Lotus fan theory and shares how the cast kept the real ending under wraps.
In a recent Entertainment Weekly roundtable, 
Aimee Lou Wood talked about her role in The White Lotus Season 3 and the unusual fan theories that followed. One theory in particular stood out: that a monkey was responsible for the season’s shootout. “They were like, ‘Well, why would they keep cutting to the monkeys in the trees?’” Wood said. “People were really [like], ‘Oh, of course. 
Mike White’s a genius.’ Honestly!”
Wood played Chelsea, a hopeful romantic traveling with her older boyfriend Rick (
Walton Goggins). Their storyline ended in the finale when both characters were killed after Rick’s plan for revenge went too far.
To keep the ending under wraps, the crew used a fake call sheet with an alternate death listed. “There was a different person’s death,” Wood said, noting she even started to wonder if both versions had been filmed.
Michelle Monaghan, also in the cast, reportedly dismissed the monkey theory outright. “That is absolutely not what happened,” she reportedly said. For Wood, though, it was just one example of how unexpected the show’s reception can be—even for the people in it.
