In 1971, actress Farrah Fawcett (1947 - 2009) appeared in a Ford Mustang commercial, playing a member of an encounter group discussing another meeting attendee, Charles, who prefers to leave and go for a ride in the Mustang instead. Farrah Fawcett is best known for her role in the original series “Charlie’s Angels” (1976 - 1981).
Steve McQueen (2005)
In 2005, a commercial featuring the legendary Steve McQueen (1930 - 1980) aired on television screens. Although the actor, famous for films like “Bullitt” (1968), where he drove a Ford Mustang, passed away in 1980, he reappeared to test drive the then-new model of his favorite car.
Molly McQueen (2018)
Behind the wheel of the Ford Mustang also sat Steve McQueen’s granddaughter, actress Molly McQueen (1987), known for films like “Finding Steve McQueen” (2018). In a promotional video created in 2018, she raced in the Mustang Bullitt model, named in honor of her grandfather and his famous film.
Sydney Sweeney (2024)
At the beginning of 2024, FordCanada released a video featuring actress Sydney Sweeney (1997), known for series like “Euphoria” (2019 - 2025) and “The Handmaid’s Tale” (2017 - 2025), performing maintenance on her historic Mustang.
This year also saw the release of another video showcasing a special custom-made Ford Mustang GT, designed personally by Sydney Sweeney and intended as a prize for a competition celebrating the sixtieth anniversary of Ford Mustang production, which began in 1964.
