The 39th Independent Spirit Awards were Presented at the Santa Monica Pier

At the 2024 Film Independent Spirit Awards, “Past Lives” received the award for Best Film (presented to producers David Hinojosa, Pamela Koffler, Christine Vachon), and Celine Song took home the Best Director prize, marking a significant achievement for this independent romantic drama.

During the ceremony held at the Santa Monica Pier and hosted by Aidy Bryant, actor Jeffrey Wright received the Best Lead Performance award for his compelling role in “American Fiction” (directed by Cord Jefferson.

The Best International Film honor went to “Anatomy of a Fall” (directed by Justine Triet).
