Golden Globes host Jo Koy has been under fire for attempting to poke fun at “Barbie” during the recent awards ceremony, comparing her to Christopher Nolan’s Oppenheimer, saying the latter “is based on a 721-page Pulitzer Prize-winning book about the Manhattan Project, and Barbie is on a plastic doll with big boobies.”
However, director Greta Gerwig was unfazed by the comment, going as far as supporting the host “Well, he’s not wrong. She’s the first doll that was mass produced with breasts, so he was right on.” while pointing out that Barbie has been a versatile character since her introduction in 1959.
