This year, too, the Academy Awards paid tribute to the personalities who have left us forever. The In Memoriam segment began by honoring Alexei Navalny (1976 - 2024), the central figure in the documentary film “Navalny” (directed by Daniel Roher), who passed away on February 16, 2024.
Other individuals remembered during this segment included Jane Birkin (1946 - 2023), Carl Weathers (1948 - 2024), Matthew Perry (11969 - 2023), and Tina Turner (1939 - 2023). These and many other figures are listed on the Oscars.org website.
