The song “Dizzy” by Olly Alexander will compete for the United Kingdom’s victory at the 68th edition of Eurovision.

On May 11, 2024, the final of the 68th edition of the Eurovision Song Contest will take place in Malmö, Sweden, which will be automatically attended by the representative of the United Kingdom. This year, it will be Olly Alexander.

Olly Alexander was born on July 15, 1990, in Harrogate, and he is a singer, actor, and LGBTQ+ activist. He became the lead singer of the band Years & Years shortly after its formation when its member, guitarist Mikey Goldsworthy, heard him singing in the shower. The group gradually released three albums and six singles, with the latest single, “King” (2015), reaching the top spot on the UK Singles Chart.

As an actor, Olly Alexander appeared in films such as “Gulliver’s Travels” (2010, where he played the role of Prince August) and alongside Judi Dench and Ben Whishaw in the theater production of “Peter and Alice” (March–June 2013).

On December 16, 2023, it was announced that he would represent the United Kingdom in the Eurovision Song Contest in 2024. He will participate with the song “Dizzy,” which he co-wrote in collaboration with Danny L Harle.
